Our story

Our story

The Elsan story has always been shaped by our ambition to create an efficient and innovative healthcare model. Originally founded by Jérôme Nouzarède and Dr. Michel Bodkier, Elsan was born from the merger between Vedici and Vitalia in November 2015. In June 2017, we entered into a partnership with MédiPôle Partenaires, then C2S in 2021, thus becoming leader in the private hospital sector with the development of a unique network of health facilities close to 45 million of French people.

Ultra-precise cancer detection

A PET scan – state-of-the-art medical imaging technology – makes the early and accurate diagnosis of cancer possible . Elsan has introduced PET scanning to provide patients with a reliable and first-rate service – a service that is also comprehensive, since as well as detecting cancer cells, a PET scan can also track their evolution during treatment. This allows better targeted treatment to be administered and monitored.

Advanced cancer care

Delivering the correct dosage of beams to the right area is central to treating cancer through radiotherapy. It’s a challenge that requires medical teams to have an extremely precise and continuous vision of tumour movement, so that they can adapt in real time how treatment is delivered (ensuring a high dosage to target the tumour while preserving healthy tissues). The state-of-the-art TrueBeam system offers such customised treatment. Committed to maintaining excellence in the fight against cancer, Elsan has equipped its clinics with this innovative radiotherapy system that guarantees greater patient comfort.

Da Vinci robotic surgery

A technological revolution that enhances the healing experience

The da Vinci robot is a high-tech device capable of responding in real time to the surgeon’s hand movements. With four articulated arms, da Vinci alone embodies the robotic surgery promise, offering surgeons greater dexterity and precision in performing procedures. This minimally invasive approach allows the patient to recover more quickly. For all these reasons, Elsan has elected to integrate this innovative technology into its healthcare offer.

A minimally invasive treatment for prostate adenoma

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a common condition in men over 50 years of age. Also known as prostate adenoma, BPH is characterised by an enlarged prostate gland that compresses the urethra channel carrying urine. This causes many patients to feel uncomfortable emptying their bladder or to have frequent urges to urinate. To remove the central part of the prostate responsible for this obstruction, Elsan offers its patients pioneering technology: HoLEP (Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate) . Elsan is therefore improving its care offer by treating patients with a technique recognised for its high performance and appreciated for its minimally invasive nature .

Novalis Tx

High-precision cancer treatment

Radiotherapy is a key weapon in the fight against cancer. ovalis Tx is a linear particle accelerator that generates electron or photon beams for radiotherapy treatment purposes . Radiotherapy treatment is a sequence in which the type of beam (electrons or photons), its energy level, shape and orientation are altered to target the tumour, sparing the surrounding healthy organs and tissues. Elsan offers its patients Novalis Tx – a high-precision technological device that has proven itself as one of the most effective innovations in cancer treatment . Multidisciplinary teams (MDT) comprising doctors, radiation oncologists and radiographers, provide the best possible support to patients. All have received extensive training in Novalis Tx.

Greenlight Laser

Advanced technology for prostate adenoma

The prostate is not completely removed – only the part responsible for the obstruction. This procedure is performed using the Greenlight Laser , a system adopted by a growing number of urology departments. After the procedure, patients are able to urinate normally again.

Focal One

a pioneering treatment for prostate cancer

Prostate cancer is the most common type of cancer among men in France. To treat it, Elsan has acquired Focal One – state-of-the art equipment that uses ultrasound emission, offering an i nnovative alternative to traditional techniques (surgery or radiotherapy ). The use of this mobile device has been rolled out throughout France. Today, it allows the urology departments i n a large number of our clinics to offer their local communities a solution that reduces the impact of treatment on the patient.

Ultra High Definition is making its way into operating theatres. Thanks to 4K-Ultra HD laparoscopes, surgeons practicing in Elsan facilities can benefit from unprecedented image quality.

Innova IGS 520

Imaging to support cardiovascular procedures

Innova IGS 520 is a flat-panel detector system that enables surgeons to see vessels by injecting a product that is visible in radiography. This opacification of vessels, or angiography, makes it possible to locate diseased vascular areas and to carry out vascular repair procedures under visual control.
