To find out whether you need a visa for your situation and to learn about the steps to follow, please consult:

Stay for Medical Treatment

  • Eligibility criteria: To be eligible for a medical treatment visa, you must have a health condition that requires specialized care or surgery that cannot be adequately provided in your country of residence and needs to be performed in France.
  • Your visa : The visa issued for medical purposes is a short-stay visa, but it may also allow, incidentally, a private or tourist visit. Medical care provided in France cannot be covered by French health insurance.
  • Your supporting documents: In addition to the usual documents required for any short-stay visa, specific medical documents will be requested. These will be reviewed in strict compliance with medical confidentiality.
